A delivery attempt occurs when a carrier arrives at the designated delivery location with a shipment but cannot deliver the freight due to reasons beyond their control. Common reasons for unsuccessful delivery attempts include:
- Incorrectly listed delivery location hours
- Incorrect delivery address
- Absence of someone available to receive the delivery
- Congestion at a port preventing timely delivery by the driver
Delivery attempts typically result in a delay of at least one day.
We apply a standard fee for each local delivery attempt. For non-local shipments, the fees vary depending on the carrier utilized.
