Dry Run

Dry Run

A dry run occurs when a carrier arrives at the pickup location but cannot receive the freight due to reasons beyond their control. Common causes for dry runs include:
  1. Incorrectly listed pickup location hours.
  2. Incorrect pickup address.
  3. Absence of anyone available to receive the carrier for pickup, or the freight not being ready within 30 minutes of the carrier's arrival.
  4. More freight is provided than listed on the bill of lading (BOL), causing space constraints or preventing the carrier from accepting additional pickups.
  5. Congestion at a port hindering timely pickup by the carrier.

Dry run fees for integrated shipments vary depending on the carrier.
