Pick-up Attempt

Pick-up Attempt

A pick-up attempt occurs when a carrier reaches the designated pick-up location but is unable to receive the freight due to circumstances beyond their control.

For direct local shipments, we implement a pick-up attempt fee if a carrier is on the way to or at the pick-up location. This fee helps compensate our verified carriers for last-minute cancellations, enabling us to maintain exceptional reliability for direct shipments.

Common reasons for missed pick-ups include:

  1. Incorrect pick-up location hours
  2. Incorrect pick-up address
  3. Unavailability of personnel to receive the carrier for pick-up, or the freight not being ready within 30 minutes of the carrier's arrival
  4. Additional freight beyond what is listed on the Bill of Lading (BOL), resulting in space constraints for the carrier
  5. Congestion at a port, preventing timely pickup

Missed pick-up attempts typically lead to a delay of at least one day.
