A truck waiting fee is incurred on an hourly basis when a driver is compelled to wait at the pickup or delivery site due to circumstances beyond the driver's influence. These scenarios may include:

Pickup or delivery at a congested port or warehouse.
Delay because the freight is not prepared for loading or unloading.
Unavailability of personnel to receive the driver for pickup or delivery.
Situation where additional freight is provided beyond what is listed on the Bill of Lading (BOL), necessitating waiting time for reorganization and consolidation to accommodate the extra cargo.
Incorrect pickup or delivery address provided.

In each case, the waiting fee compensates the driver for the time spent idle due to factors outside their control.
